A long road to awareness
I always practiced sport and looked after my diet but years ago suffered a terrible bout of food poisoning caused by a turkey breast, and for months remained disgusted by meat which I avoided. Not eating it I didn't miss it and initially, living in a town by the sea, decided to concentrate my diet on local foods thus eliminating meat entirely in favour of fish.
But slowly I got the sensation that I could attain a more correct and "contemporary" diet and like a lightening bolt it hit me that man could eat without killing anyone: in my eyes, eating meat or fish was the heritage of a primeval era.
Inside of me grew the conviction that avoiding violence and suffering at the table could flood us with positive energy that would then spread out around us: I feel very much a part of this type of philosophy where good attracts good and non violence pushes away other violence.
Another "bolt" arrived when I realised that this type of diet is good not only for our souls and our bodies but also for our planet, and since then I always try to select local, seasonal food, always within the vegetable world.
I depict my course as a journey where along the way I have been able to bit by bit gather flowers (of wellbeing, of life and of awareness) and now I hold in my hands a beautiful bouquet, aware that on my future journey I will definitely find more flowers, becuase the journey towards our awareness and growth is endless.
